Featuring: Sara Tilley, Kimmy Beach, Geoff Berner, and Alison Wearing

Anything can happen at this Banff event where a range of literary performers experiment and play on the stage in an intimate club setting. Check for more details! Licensed venue, admits 14 and over.

In Skin Room by Sara Tilley, the voices of a precocious 12-year-old and her sophisticated older self are straightforward and yet as evocative as poetry in this hilarious and heart-wrenching coming of age story.

Parodies of pop culture have long been Kimmy Beach’s trademark territory, but what sets the raunchy and irreverent The Last Temptation of Bond apart from her previous work is the ease with which she straddles the perceived divide between contemporary pop culture and modernist literature.

Festival Man by Geoff Berner follows the flailing escapades a maverick music manager at the Calgary Folk Festival in a testament to the power of strange music to change people from the inside out.

Woven through music and imagery, the Confessions of a Fairy’s Daughter stage play tells Alison Wearing’s true story of growing up with a gay father in the 1980s.
